CACHE Level 3 Award in the Awareness of the Mental Capacity Act 2005

The qualification aims to provide learners with an understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, an understanding of the importance of complying with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 Code of Practice when working with individuals who lack capacity and the knowledge to apply the Mental Capacity Act 2005 in their practice. This qualification supports those working in organisations providing care to those individuals who lack capacity by providing the underpinning knowledge and understanding of how the Act is applied in workplace practice. This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and above. There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 2 qualification in a health or social care related area. To be awarded the Level 3 Award in the Awareness of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, learners are required to successfully complete one mandatory unit. The Level 3 Award in the Awareness of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 is internally assessed. It is a knowledge only qualification and a workplace is not required.
