CACHE Level 2 Award in Promoting Food Safety and Nutrition in Health and Social Care or Early Years and Childcare Settings

This qualification will develop the knowledge and skills required when working with food in health and social care and early years and childcare settings. It covers food safety requirements, contributing to and/or promoting nutrition and hydration and supporting individuals to eat and drink. It is suitable for anyone who may be preparing for a new role, or is working in a role that involves handling food safely and supporting an individual with their nutrition and hydration needs. You should be at least 14 years old. We do not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines. The Award in Promoting Food Safety and Nutrition requires 8 credits. It will be assessed by your Tutor or Assessor. This could include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task. You will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement as you need to show competence in both knowledge and skills. You can usually complete it in less than 6 months.
