First Aid

Our First Aid courses have been specifically designed to meet the needs of practitioners working in a variety of sectors and the training is very practical - we learn first aid best by putting all the theory in to practice.

Qualifications

Paediatric First Aid - this 12 hour course meets the EYFS Staturtory Guidance and is suitable for Ofsted registered settings. We focus on the first aid needed for babies, children and young people who may be conscious or unconscious. This is an assessed course and you will receive a certificate which lasts for 3 years and a manual. This course can be delivered as a 12 hour face to face course or as a blended learning course which is 6 hours face to face and 6 hours on line.

Paediatric First Aid for the Outdoors - this 14 hour course is the same as the Paediatric First aid but also has additional scenarios and practice outdoors. We discuss the environments and additional first aid kit that may be needed. This course is particularly suitable for practitioners who do alot of outdoor care, play or education for example, Forest School practitioners, Adventure Play Staff, Play Rangers and Outdoor Education practitioners. This is an assessed course and you will receive a certificate which lasts for 3 years and a manual.

HABC Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) - this is a one day, 6 hour course and is suitable for those needing a first aid certificate which covers them for adults. The course looks at scene safety, conscious and unconscious casulaties, recovery position, CPR, AEDs, choking, bleeding and bandaging, burns, poisons and the role of the first aider. This is an assessed course and you will receive a HABC certificate which lasts for 3 years and a manual.

HABC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) - this is a more in depth 3 day course and builds on the content in the emergency first aid at work course. In addition to that content the course looks at further illnesses, broken bones, soft tissue injuries, head, neck and back injuries and it also covers paediatric first aid.

Basic Life Support - This 3 hour workshop is aimed at health care professionals who may need to refresh their skills and knowledge or may be training for the first time. The course is very hands on, allowing for plenty of practical practice. The course meets the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines. Each participant will receive a certificate and manual.

Awareness of Anaphylaxis and Safe Use of Autoinjectors - This two hour workshop will explore the causes of anaphylaxis, the effects on the body, signs and symptoms, prevention, action to take and safe use of the main auto injectors (Emerade, Epipen and Jext).
