Common Core of Skills and Knowledge Course
This course can be completed as a distance learning course. It is suitable for nannies who are registering with OFSTED or anyone registering on the voluntary part of the register. It is also suitable for those wishing to have taster training to prepare them for a career in working with children, young people and families or for anyone wanting to update their skills and knowledge. The course covers the Common Core of skills and knowledge required, which is part of the OFSTED registration requirements for nannies and is usually included on job descriptions for posts in the children and young peoples workforce. The course covers the 6 areas of - Effective Communication and Engagement with Children, Young People and Families, Child and Young Person Development, Safeguarding and Promoting the Welfare of the Child and Young Person, Supporting Transitions, Multi Agency Working and Sharing Information. During the course you will look at how these areas apply to practice and the theory behind the practice including legislative requirements. Learners will need to complete a work pack to evidence their learning and understanding. Alternatively, we can deliver this course as a 1 day taught course to a group of learners.
